Elizabeth McCrane is the great-grand daughter
of Joe Harper of Brownwood, Texas.
After working in the corporate world for a short time, she decided she was ready to come home and pursue her dream of having a B&B. She began the thoughtful process of deciding on an appropriate name, one that reflected her heritage and one that was significant to the history of Brownwood.
Owned by the Harper family, the Harper Hotel and Grocery Store, known as the "The Harper House" operated in
Downtown Brownwood from around 1904-1942.
The name "Harper House" is a tip of the hat to her family and to the pride of being deeply rooted in Brownwood.
